Aunt Dottie and her Nephew Aaron have been bringing their unique brand of entertainment to audiences since 2008 and are pleased as punch to be King County 4Culture Touring Artists. Book them for YOUR convention, party, or special event! Aunt Dottie is always the "hostess with the mostess" and, along with Nephew Aaron on the keys, can keep any event lively and unique!

Check out their calendar to find dates/locations of their stage show so you can join the fun as they put their own spin on pop, rock, standards and just about any other genre of music your heart desires!!

Free to Be!

I love you all, friends, just the way you are! (And now I'm singing!)

You are the expert at being you!

Sometimes the hardest thing to let go of is worrying about what others think about you.

I say, "To heck with them!"

In the words of Cat Stevens . . .

If you want to sing out, sing out . . . .

Have a day filled with peace, love and rock n' roll my friends!!

IN THE SUMMERTIME

It may not FEEL like summertime when you step outside but it was summertime INSIDE the theatre this past Sunday! We send love and hugs to all the fine folks who joined us on June 24th to celebrate the end of the school year AND to help out HEED UGANDA! We filled Renton Civic with all the peace, love & rock n' roll that we could and it was so nice to be able to support the fine work they are doing for kids in Uganda. We feel like we have the greatest audiences in the world. You know, sometimes you put yourself out there and you produce a show and you don't know if anyone will come (or if anyone cares) but we ALWAYS find out that people DO come and they DO care. In fact, every show we do, we are so blessed with amazing moments and wonderful audience members! Here are a few pictures from the show (I have a new outfit!) Currently the next show on our schedule is in November but, we'll post an update if we book anything sooner. I will post here all summer long, of course! I cannot keep quiet, just like I cannot keep still and I cannot stop singing! We love you all!

GIVE ME LOVE (GIVE ME PEACE ON EARTH)

You know it's true, you CAN be the change you see in the world. I'm on the inter-webs a LOT and I see a lot of people angrily status updating and tweeting about all sorts of things. They seem to spend all their precious online time getting riled up about what's they see that's wrong in the world. Seems to me it gives them less bandwidth to STAND UP for what they believe in. What do you believe in? How can you help promote that? Nephew Aaron and I believe in making a difference where we see need. The way we do it is by using our show, our voices, to raise money for different non-profit organizations that we believe in: Vision House, Lifelong AIDS Alliance, Mercy Corps, Champions Foundation, The Renton Salvation Army Food Bank . . . to name a few. Where can  YOU make a difference. It doesn't have to be money, it could be volunteering your time or just lending your voice to a good cause. Tell me what YOU believe in! I believe in using the power of peace, love and rock n' roll to fund the good works that people are doing! I believe in unleashing peace, love and rock n'roll on the world!

LOVING MONDAY

Happy Monday!
Mondays are the start of a new week ripe with possibilities. But some people hate Mondays. The Mamas & the Papas even sang "can't trust that day". What do you love about Mondays? What do you hate about Mondays? What gets you through Mondays? If you're having a difficult Monday today maybe a little upbeat music would help?? Why not create a "happy Monday" playlist of songs?? Nephew Aaron & I rehearse often on Mondays to get our new week started off just fine! That might make it a great Monday! Sending you lots of peace, love and rock n' roll on THIS Monday!! ~Aunt Dottie

VISION HOUSE

Please join us!
I love it when people are making a positive difference in our world!! Since 1990 Vision House, located in Renton, Washington, has successfully provided transitional housing & support services to homeless mothers & children. I first learned about them when I went to their "No Homeless Kid's" luncheon about a year ago. I am so impressed and humbled by the work they do. Nephew Aaron & I are trying to fill the world with as much peace, love & rock n' roll as we can so we are donating a portion of our proceeds from our Mother's Day Show to help this amazing organization as they postively impact our community. ~Aunt Dottie

SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY!

Every day I read the news and there is another something to make my heart a little sad. It just makes me even more determined to bring as MUCH peace, love & rock n' roll as I can to the world! I have such wonderful friends, who I know are doing the same!

Are you as excited for Sunday's show as I am?? Oh my friends! I cannot wait to SEE all of you! Nephew Aaron and I have a fun show planned. We've been rehearsing all our music. AUDACIOUS DREAMS

What are YOUR audacious dreams for 2011? Just feels like the YEAR for them, doesn't it? So many friends that converse with me on Facebook or Twitter give me that impression, too, that ALL of you are planning big and wonderful things for the year. Not talking about resolutions, talking about BIG plans and dreams fulfilled. Whenever something in the world bothers me, I resolve to put even MORE peace, love & rock n' roll back IN to the world!

I cannot tell you how GRATEFUL I am for all you dear and wonderful friends who come to our shows. I'll let you in on a secret, my AUDACIOUS dream for 2011 is to bring our show to even MORE people! I'd love to see if we could set something up!

Nephew Aaron and I are so excited to be taking our show back to Winter Park, FL in February. But first, we'll be back at our unofficial "home base" of Renton Civic Theatre. My goodness do I love that theatre! It is beautiful and warm and wonderful and I've met so MANY wonderful people there!

THANK YOU WEST SEATTLE!

An enormous "thank you" to all the fine folks at Kenyon Hall and the audience in West Seattle. Nephew Aaron and I had a grand time last night! We sang, we danced, we had contests and gave away lots of prizes. We sang some new songs. We sang some old songs. We met new friends. We reconnected with old friends. As a special surprise, my friend, Kelly Wright, sang with me. All in all, a LOVELY night! Nephew Aaron reminded me of something last night: my one-year anniversary with my current husband,  Leonard, is coming up here. We were wed on October 31, 2008. So, Halloween THIS year is our one year anniversary. This is the longest I've been married to anyone EVER. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it lasts . . . Leonard is a pretty good fellow and I really love my adopted hometown of Renton, WA.

There is also another anniversary coming up. The one year anniversary of Nephew Aaron and I performing together. We are celebrating by doing a one-year anniversary show, of course! I hope you can make it to this extravaganza. We are going to pull out all the stops for this show!

AUNT DOTTIE SHOWS FOR SEPTEMBER

It's Dottiepalooza with two shows (count 'em) in a row!!

I just booked two shows for the end of September at the lovely Renton Civic Theater. My Nephew Aaron is busy on Saturday night so our next-door neighbor, Mark, is going to play piano on that night and Nephew Aaron will be back for the Sunday matinee.

Who knew that neighbor Mark could play piano?? I've lived next-door to him and he's such a busy fellow, I wave and yell but he just always hurried into his house, busy, busy. Then, on those HOT days this summer, all the windows were open I heard piano music and realized it was neighbor Mark! Soooooooo, one night when I woke up at 2:00 a.m. and Nephew Aaron was out and about; why, I just knocked on next-door neighbor Mark's door and asked him if he'd play a tune for me.

THERE WILL BE PRIZES!!

The show runs TWO performances:

Aunt Dottie's (happy hour) Cabaret
Saturday, September 26, 2009

With Aunt Dottie's Neighbor Mark (Rabe) on piano
