YOU CAN'T PLEASE EVERYONE . . .

. . . so you've got to please yourself. I agree with Ricky Nelson's lyrics on that count, because I think he's right. I'm convinced that the surest way to unhappiness is to try to please everyone around you. There are critics everywhere. Who are YOU? What do YOU like/make/create? Stay true to yourself and watch how the people who like what YOU do are drawn to you. It might not happen as quickly as you like but it will happen deeply. If you focus on what matters to you and stay true to yourself, the audience that is YOURS - the audience that is going to love what YOU do is the audience you want. At the end of the day, you won't be proud if you please your critics/haters and alienate the people who already love you for being you. Right?
