HOW DO YOU CATCH 'EM?

My Mama used to say, “You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.” Wherever she went, she smiled at people and treated EVERYONE kindly, with a friendly word. And it was genuine. She loved people and people loved her. It seemed that the world opened up to HER. Store clerks would go the extra mile; waitresses would bring her a free slice of pie –things like that. Think about it, wouldn’t YOU rather interact with someone who was being genuinely nice and treated you kindly? I sure would! Oh, sure, once in a while she’d meet a grumbling grouch who just would not return a smile. And some days, she’d feel grumpy. On THOSE days, she’d look in the mirror and say, “Fake it ‘til you make it, sweetie!” Then she’d put that smile on and pretty soon she'd be in a good mood again!
