I read this gem on twitter: It's a great day to figure out what makes you happy & hold a yard sale for everything that doesn't. I’m certain the author was thinking about the PHYSICAL junk around the house but, I think this also goes for the mental JUNK that accumulates. What thoughts are you holding that don’t make you happy? Why? Get rid of ‘em! Probably no one will want them, either, so just throw those negative thoughts into the trash and replace them with something that inspires and uplifts you. When we’re children, we think positively until an adult or mean friend puts negative words into our brains! Get back to that place where you believe in yourself and know you can do anything!
Replace “I’m stupid” with “I’m always learning”. Things like that. Get out two pieces of paper. Write all your negative words on one sheet. (You'll probably notice, too, who GAVE you those negative words in the first place!)
Create a positive replacement and write it on the other sheet of paper. Next get RID of those negative thoughts and phrases and hang up that positive sheet of paper somewhere you’ll see it everyday to remind yourself of the new ways you want to think.
